They are considered as very expensive art pieces and it is hard to imagine that most practitioners would be comfortable using them in everyday practice. In the past decade, the market experienced great number of affordable swords coming from China. Although the quality of Chinese made swords have been improving in the past few years, there is significant concern over their quality control. Many forges in China hires numerous smiths and mass produce the swords. As the result, there is no guarantee that a sword is made by a master smith or an apprentice smith who only started working in the factory few days ago.
