I recently ordered a carbon steel practice sword from MartialArtSwords.com. The service I received was excellent, even before my actual purchase, with quick responses to my questions. The sword was delivered within the projected time period and even the packaging reflected a level of attention not always seen these days.

The sword itself is wonderful. The quality of craftsmanship seems on par with that of my live blades. The balance is almost identical to that of the sword I cut with. This practice sword immediately replaced my other metal practice swords.

Anyone who takes their training seriously and is looking for another way to improve their performance should find this sword invaluable. Given that it is much closer to the weight of a live blade I believe it will only facilitate a smoother transition to using a real sword for cutting practice. Its dulled edge and rounded tip provides the safety needed for use in forms practice. In fact, the grooves on the blade will likely reveal to the individual that their "cuts" in the forms are not as true as they may have believed.

Finally, MartialArtSwords.com's Stephan Auster is so committed to customer satisfaction that he went out of his way to try other routes of communication went it became apparent that I was not receiving his e-mail messages after the transaction was complete.

I gladly recommend MartialArtSwords.com to other shoppers based on the outstanding service I received. On a scale of 1 to 10, they get a 10 from me.

The sword is great. I received it Tuesday afternoon. I've used it 3 times now. It's nicer than other kagums I've seen. I look forward to ordering a chingum in the near future. Thanks for your prompt service.

Received the sword today and I am very impressed with it. The Saya fits like a glove and the overall fit and finish of the sword is beautiful. The more traditional katana look is just what I was looking for and this sword is it. The balance of the sword is very good in one hand due to the long handle, but two handed use is preferred and feels more natural. The blade is very sturdy and looks like it could stand up to a great deal of cutting practice with no ill affects. The handle is easy to grip and feels very natural in the hands providing a very good gripping surface. Overall I would say this is a very good sword for the money. I would definitely buy again from martial art swords not only was the service right on time for delivery but you are always quick, courteous and informative in your emails. Thanks again for the great sword.

-Gary

I just got your crane jingum in the mail. The shipping was super fast. The sword is absolutely beautiful and all the parts fit perfectly. I am looking forward to cutting with it. I am going your Deluxe Haidong Jingum in the future. Thanks for the awesome service and blade.

The sword came yesterday as promised. I am thus far very pleased, fit and finish is the best I have seen in a production sword and far surpasses Chen and LL. Cant wait to cut with it and it is sooooo light!

-Kris

It's as solid and nicer than any I have worked with. The blade is 1/3 wider than my last sword and its still lighter and better balanced. I workded out with it last night for the first time and it was more than impressive. I am happy with my purchase and may do it again soon for my wife.
Thank you

- Scott

Just received the new sword. I thought the first one that I bought was sweet, but this one is even better. You have out done yourself. The balance is perfect. These re truly awesome samurai swords. As you know, I bought a custom standard katana in Nov. of 04. It is 63 cm blade length with standard (203 style) yellow brass cast fittings, leather wrap handle, and a mirror finish. After using it for a few weeks I was so impressed with it that I ordered another standard deluxe katana, only this time with the longest length blade, again standard brass (205 style) fittings, carved instead of cast, and hand polished with leather wrap handle. Awesome! I highly recommend your swords to any serious collector or sword practitioner as these also cut, they are very sharp, both really and in looks. This is a quality product!
Thanks.

I received the katana today and it is more than satisfactory. It cuts wet goza well. Thank you again and best wishes in all your endeavors.

-Daniel

This katana was a surprise. The very non-Japanese polished brass fittings were unimpressive**. It made the sword look like a cheap wall hanger, but it cut awesomely straight out of the box. The thin blade makes it very light and well balanced. It was a real treat to cut with. It's cutting ability, combined with the low price, make this one that we have to recommend (we also recommend you do something with those fittings before showing up at the dojo).

**Martialartswords.com is now offering classic version for our standard katanas with traditional fitting.

Hi Stephan, it came today, it's beautiful.. I can't thank you enough for getting this for and to me... the package was wrapped nicely with bubble wrap and the time frame was right on... It's heavy. Right now I'm just use to the training sword and periodically using my Master's sword. It will be used and I hope I can do it justice... Thank you again

Wow,
The sword is unbelievably beatiful. I'm very happy with it. Thank you. Is there any care instructions that I should know. thanks. PS I'm from Vancouver Canada. Go figure!
Thanks again.

- Sean, Vancouver

I'm very impressed with the performance. I tried to cut some paper with it and it was sooooo smooth. I also have Paul Chen Golden Oriole katana and that is not even close to the quality of this blade. Thank you.
